What Does the CIC Do?

The CIC is mandated to inspect and monitor the correctional facilities where DC residents are incarcerated, including DC Department of Corrections facilities in the District and over 100 Federal Bureau of Prisons facilities across the country.

CIC visit to USP Hazelton

In response to the stabbing deaths of two DC men at USP Hazelton in September and April of this year, CIC representatives visited USP Hazelton on October 3, 2018, and interviewed 58 DC men.
