FCC Victorville Holding ICE Detainees
On June 8, 2018, 1,000 Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detainees arrived at the Federal Correctional Complex (FCC) Victorville. As of July 3, 2018, there have been confirmations of 11 scabies and 2 chickenpox cases within the detainee population. The staff of the facilities have raised concerns surrounding understaffing before the arrival of the ICE detainees including medical staff. FCC Victorville staff has recently expressed safety concerns due to the increased population.
