The DC Corrections Information Council (CIC) is facilitating its next CIC Pop‑Up Think Tank, entitled "Reimagining CTF," on Thursday, July 14, 2016, from 6 pm to 8 pm. The DC Department of Corrections (DOC) will assume operations of the Correctional Treatment Facility (CTF) on February 1, 2017. While there will likely not be any immediate change in operations at CTF on Day One, we invite loved ones of incarcerated DC residents, community advocates, and interested community members to share their thoughts and ideas about inmate composition, programs, and services to be provided at CTF in the coming years. Attendees will then work together to examine and prioritize suggestions for CTF, taking into account structural concerns, political issues, fiscal limitations, and other issues that might affect the realistic "reimagining" of CTF operations. CIC staff will then report the attendees' work to decision‑makers to further facilitate community input into this critically important transition.
