The District of Columbia government entered Phase Two of re-opening on Monday, June 22, 2020. The CIC will remain on a 100% telework schedule Monday- Friday from 9 AM-5 PM until further notice.

Currently, the BOP and the DOC are not allowing on-site inspections, but our work is continuing through alternative channels. The CIC recently sent a 20 question survey inquiring about conditions during the pandemic to randomly selected adults in BOP custody. Once survey responses are collected, a report will be distributed to the public. Also, our intended July inspection of the Volunteers of America (VOA) halfway house in Baltimore, MD has been postponed due to the visitation restrictions; however, we are working to produce findings from an information request.
