The CIC inspected the Central Detention Facility (CDF) this month in response to resident concerns about temperatures. CIC staff took temperature readings of both the air expelled from circulation vents as well as the humidity levels in several housing units, cells, and common areas. The age and structural design of the CDF building present challenges for efficient heating and cooling, but the CIC identified additional mitigating measures the DOC can enact while utilizing the existing CDF building.

Additionally, the CIC heard a resident's concern regarding staff behavior. Findings, recommendations, and the DOC's response regarding this incident are also included in the report.
