This follow-up recommendations report assesses CIC past recommendations on medical issues in BOP facilities. The report analyzes which recommendation have been implemented or neglected since the CIC's visit. In some instances, additional recommendations are provided to better address residents’ needs.
The Recommendations Assessment Report project is an accordance with DC Law 24-344 (f)(1)(B)(iii), that requires the CIC to produce “a review of the Bureau of Prisons' and Department of Corrections' implementation of recommendations issued by the CIC within the past 5 years”. The CIC will monitor and report on the recommendations and publish updates following significant changes to the implementation or creation of new recommendations.
