USP Lewisburg is an all-male facility located in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania. In November 2021, the facility opened a unit for the pre-trial detainees transferred from DC jail by the US Marshal Services (USMS). Overall, the USMS moved approximately 200 DC individuals from the DC Central Detention Facility to USP Lewisburg. This report contains the CIC's findings during the February inspection of USP Lewisburg. Comments on the CIC's recommendations from the BOP are also included in this report.
