Federal Medical Center (FMC) Carswell is a Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP) women-only federal medical prison located in Carswell, TX.  As of July 2, 2018, FMC Carswell held six women convicted of DC Criminal Code offenses. 

The CIC conducted an onsite inspection of FMC Carswell on Sept. 7-8, 2017, when 17 DC women were incarcerated there, and it has collected other information between the onsite inspection and submission of draft report to BOP. The BOP Response is published in toto along with the CIC report, here. The BOP response directly addresses CIC recommendations, and contains updated facility information.
