Official Statement from The DOC:

"The DC Department of Corrections is dedicated to the safety and security of the men and women in our care. This is our routine security process. This is a normal correctional practice and activity designed to limit contraband and support resident and staff safety," in response to social media reports about the DC Jail being on "lockdown" last month.
